How Star is Born

A star is born when atoms of light elements are squeezed under enough pressure for their nuclei to undergo fusion. All stars are the outcome of a balance of forces: the force of gravity squeezes atoms in interstellar gas till the combination reactions start. And once the fusion reactions start, they apply an external pressure. As long as the inside force of gravity and the external force produced by the fusion reactions are equal, the star remains stable.
