Simon Evans (born 9 May 1965), is an English comedian, born in Luton and now living in Hove.
Evans is an established act on the UK comedy circuit with a growing TV profile – on Live at The Apollo (Jan 2013) and on Stand up for the Week (Autumn 2013, Channel Four).. His style has been characterised as sarcastic, cynical and quick-witted, and following a well-received return to the Edinburgh Festival in 2010 according to leading comedy review site Chortle ‘his sharp, acidic barbs remain a rich delight’. TV appearances in 2010 include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow in Sunderland (BBC One) and Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live (BBC Three). In 2010–11 he toured his show ‘Fringe Magnet’ across the UK and in 2012–13 toured his show Friendly Fire. His most recent show, Leashed, was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2013.
In early 2010, Simon Evans supported Lee Mack on his most recent UK tour – Going Out. He has performed one man shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2000 and has performed at the New Zealand Comedy Festival 2002, Cape Town Comedy Festival 2001 as well as in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Winnipeg and Dubai. In July 2004 he performed at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, and the following spring at the Aspen Comedy Festival in Colorado. In July 2010 he appeared alongside Emo Philips at Latitude Festival in Suffolk.
